COVID-19 Policy/Procedures: Re-Opening
We will begin gradually resuming routine eyecare in both offices on Monday, May 18th. We are grateful to be able to start seeing all of our patients again! We are proud and grateful to have been able to be open 5 days a week for emergencies during this entire crisis, to ensure all of our patients’ urgent eyecare needs were met.
What to expect at your next visit to our office?
- We have increased our office hours and appointment availability to comply with social distancing guidelines while still attempting to decrease the appointment backlog that this crisis has caused. Please check the hours posted for each office.
-
Before your exam:
–We need to have all patients fill out an updated history online before entering the office for an appointment. Please complete the electronic forms that we emailed or text to you. If you have difficulties filling out your history online, please contact our office, someone will help you fill out your history before you arrive. If you get to the office and you have not filled out your history, please contact us and a staff member will assist you BEFORE entering the office.
-
At the time of your exam:
Call or text us when you arrive. Our door will remain locked, but a team member will come out to greet you prior to entering. Upon arrival, your temperature will be taken. Anyone above 99.5 will be asked to leave and reschedule their appointment. Our staff is screened twice a day as well. Masks are required (please bring your own if you have one, or one will be provide for you if you do not). If you have a condition that prohibits you from wearing a mask, we will gladly schedule your exam after July 15th. We will also have you wash or sanitize your hands upon entering the office. We are requesting that no guests accompany you to your exam, unless you are a parent with a child or have another special circumstance.
- Our Optical:
Our opticals ARE OPEN. You may bring one guest with you to select glasses. We are sanitizing each pair of glasses after being tried on or touched. To ensure proper sanitization and allow social distancing we are only allowing 2 separate patient groups to be in the optical at a time. Of course you will need to keep your mask on until the final selection process. Before your final decision you will have the option to go to a mask-free zone where you will be allowed to remove your mask to see how the glasses look without your mask. We will try to keep your time with the optician as short as possible to reduce everyone’s risk. - If you have glasses or contacts to pick up, we will continue providing curbside delivery for the safety of our staff and patients, and for your convenience! We are still offering FREE DIRECT SHIPPING on all contact lens orders, simply visit our newly updated online store to place your order. If you need to replace contacts OR eyeglasses you can also call or text us and we will assist you; expiration dates may be extended on a case by case basis.
- It is important to continue all ocular vitamins and supplements that have been prescribed for you, as these help control chronic conditions such as Macular Degeneration and Dry Eye Syndrome. All vitamins and supplements will continue to be available for curbside pickup and can also be mailed directly to you. Again, please call or text us if you need to place an order.
- If you have an ocular emergency we are, as always, available to help you at any time. Call our office at 509-662-9671 or 509-548-7379 (Leavenworth) and wait for instructions at the end of the message. We have consolidated all emergency care to our Wenatchee office.
- During this period of social distancing and quarantine, we must all continue to do our part to minimize everyone’s risk and protect each other.
- Please remember that up to 80% of COVID-19 cases are mild and resolve within a week. However, if you have symptoms that are worsening, call ahead before visiting your doctor’s office or emergency department and tell them you may have COVID-19. This will help the office protect themselves and other patients.
The CDC has many wonderful resources. Arming yourself and your family with clear information will help you avoid undue stress.
